The quality of our products and services is always the top priority for Bremicker Verkehrstechnik. Through constant attention to DIN EN ISO 9001 quality management standards, and by complying with RAL quality and testing specifications, adhering to the IVZ norm for traffic sign installation devices, and sticking to the mandatory requirements of the guidelines on construction products, we are able to maintain an excellent level of quality overall.
DIN EN ISO 9001 Certification
A secure and controlled process of quality management is a sound basis for an organisation to build on while constantly learning and improving. Annual monitoring checks performed by our certification auditor as well as internal audits vouch for the maturity of our quality management system. Bremicker Verkehrstechnik introduced DIN EN ISO 9001 certification back in 1996. Building up and implementing a quality management system means taking a holistic approach to structures and procedures. However, it goes without saying that a company must also be constantly prepared to modify structures and procedures in order to improve them. It has always been our endeavour to achieve continuing development, embracing new challenges while sustaining a relationship of trust with our clients and business associates.
Customers today have increasingly high expectations of products and services. It is therefore our declared intent to rise to those demands and not only to fulfill our customers' wishes and requirements, but in fact to go a step further. Modern production facilities capable of meeting such challenges, tried and tested production methods, and highly motivated, specially trained personnel all go to make up our expertise. All these factors mesh together to consolidate our position as a leading manufacturer in the field of traffic engineering technology.
RAL/CE Quality Marks
Since the introduction of the RAL approved quality mark in 1960, quality assurance has been based on the quality and inspection specifications of the German quality assurance association for road signs and traffic equipment (Güteschutzgemeinschaft Verkehrszeichen und Verkehrseinrichtungen e.V.) - at present RAL-GZ 628 - and, in the case of the installation devices for traffic signs, the current version of the IVZ norm.
According to the general administrative provision of the road traffic regulations (Allgemeine Verwaltungsvorschrift zur Straßenverkehrsordnung - VwV-StVO), traffic signs must not fail to conform to the recognised specifications with regard to quality. In addition, the design of permanent road signs must comply with both the mandatory and the voluntary requirements stipulated in the European standard according to DIN EN 12899-1, and with the conformity requirements of the construction products regulation (Bauprodukteverordnung) - EN 12899-1.
As proof of quality assurance, traffic signs must bear the RAL quality mark of the relevant quality assurance association (Güteschutzgemeinschaft Verkehrszeichen und Verkehrseinrichtungen e.V.). Permanent vertical road signs must also be shown to be in compliance with the mandatory specifications laid down in the construction products regulation, DIN EN 12899-1, and the IVZ norm, by displaying the CE conformity mark.
Bremicker Verkehrstechnik holds all the necessary usage rights and approvals for the manufacture of traffic signs and technical road equipment and is thus entitled to use marks in accordance with national (RAL) and European (CE) guidelines.

Prequalification - Confirmation of Registration
In 2009 Bremicker Verkehrstechnik received confirmation of prequalification registration and was included in the directory of prequalified construction firms (i.e. having already satisfied the qualification requirements) with regard to 'Equipping Roads'. Prequalification involves the verification of evidence to prove suitability in advance without reference to a specific contract, according to the requirements defined in the official regulations governing tenders § 6 VOB/A. Having achieved this status, any company interested in public procurement contracts can in future prove its suitability to public contracting authorities at considerably reduced cost.
The advance test of suitability with respect to performance establishes the following:
- it provides verification of proof of suitability prior to any offers being submitted
- it provides verification of evidence of suitability by specially qualified independent authorities in accordance with requirements applicable nationwide
- it ensures regular monitoring of the suitability tests by an independent body (Verein für die Präqualifikation von Bauunternehmen e.V.)
- it relieves pressure on companies and contracting authorities
- it saves time and money
- it enables prequalification of subcontractors
- it improves quality through verification of information by disinterested third parties
- it makes for transparency in the awarding of public contracts
